Kaveri (Kalyani) is a very popular South Indian Film actress who has acted in large number of Malayalam films,Tamil Films,Telugu Films and has also acted in a few Kannada films.She is known by the name 'Kaveri' in Malayalam but in Telugu she is known as 'Kalyani'.

Kaveri is born to Muralidharan at Kavumbhagam Thiruvalla,Kerala and  is the granddaughter of an yesteryear well known character actress of Malayalam film'Pankajavally' and thus her acting talents are intrinsic.She entered Malayalam film by acting as a child artist in a film 'Ammanamkili'.Her role as a child artist in the super  hit film 'kakkothikavile Appooppan Thadikal' directed by Kamal was well noted which drew sympathy for that character by the audience.The little girl  was abducted by a beggar from the lawn of her house in that film.The mature part of that character was brilliantly handled by Revathy.Her elder sister's role was played by Ambika.
In the Mohan Lal starer super hit  film 'Sadayam'  she acted nicely as a child artist.The story and screenplay was by M.T.Vasudevan Nair and he received National award for screenplay.
From 1992 on wards Kaveri handled mature roles and acted in main roles and supporting roles of several films in Malayalam and Tamil.Her Malayalam films such as 'Champakkulam Thachan,Midhunam,Devaragam,Guru,Dada Saheb,Rajathanthram' etc were all well noted hit films.In Tamil her films such as 'Samudhiram,Kasi,Punnagai Poove,Kannadi Pookkal' and so on - all received accolades.
In the year 1998 her performance  in  one of the main female lead roles of the Malayalam  film 'Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum' directed by Vinayan was well appreciated.She acted as 'Lakshmi' in this film.This film was remade in Tamil by Sunitha Productions Aroma Mani and directed by Vinayan himself as 'Kasi'.Vikram was the hero of this film and Kaveri was one of the heroine.
In 1999 she acted in the Kannada movie 'Chaitrada Chigaru' which won State award as best movie of the year.
From around 2002 she aroused as a top heroine of Telugu films and acted in many hit films of that language with major hero actors.Kalyani received Nandi Award in 2002for her performance as heroine in the Telugu film 'Avanu Vallidaru Ishtepaddaru' which was directed by Vamshi.Ravi Teja,Prasanna,Mallikarjuna Rao,Jeeva etc acted in it.
In 2003 she acted opposite Venu Thottempudi in the

film 'Pellentho Panenti' directed by S.V.Krishna Reddy.
In 2004 she acted in a bilingual film which was made in English and Malayalam simultaneously  in which R.Madhavan,Neha Pandse,Kaveri,Nasser and Sreenivasan acted in main roles.The film was released as 'Nothing but Life' in English and the  Malayalam version released as 'Made in U.S.A.' in the year 2006.It was dubbed into Tamil as 'Ananda Punnagai' and released in the year 2008.
In the   Telugu film 'Hope' which was released in the year 2006  Kalyani,Rama Naidu,Harnath etc acted in the main roles.Satish Kasetty directed the film.
In 2014 Sundeep Kishan,Regina Cassendra,Jagapathi babu,Kalyani,Ravi Babu  acted in main roles of the film 'Ra Ra... Krishnayya'.
In 2007 she acted along with Pritviraj,Kavya Madhavan,Jayasoorya,Lalu Alex etc in the Malayalam film 'Kangaroo' in supporting role as the character 'Nancy'.
In 2010 she acted in the Malayalam film 'April Fool' directed by Viji Thampi along with Mukesh,Siddique,Jagadish,Biju Menon etc.
In that year itself she appeared in a well noted role of the Malayalam film 'Janakan' in which she acted along with Mohan Lal,Suresh Gopi,Biju Menon,Priya Lal etc.
